Baltimore Feels Ride The Ducks is Quacktacular!
Baltimore, MD (May 14, 2007)
Baltimore is quackin' for Ride The Ducks! Ride The Ducks is the only 70-minute land-to-water sightseeing adventure that provides entertainment to all ages and historically factual information. It is a scenic journey that passes most of Baltimore's historical and cultural sites.
Baltimore is in its 6th season of Ride The Ducks. The adventure begins at Light Street Pavilion in the Inner Harbor and tours around Baltimore passing sights like Edgar Allen Poe's grave, Fell's Point, the Washington Monument and much more. Tour guides are well-prepared with new tour material and music about contemporary Baltimore, pop-culture and the historical side.
George Johnson, general manager, said "You will never experience quacktacular fun like this unless you take the adventure. Our mission is to entertain visitors while providing them with historical and fun information".
Guests enjoy their complimentary Wacky Quacker™ yellow-billed duck whistles, as they quack at pedestrians on this exciting and educational tour. After the tour, one can present their Wacky Quacker™ to participating businesses and receive discounts at restaurants, museums, and much more!
In addition to sharing Baltimore's history, Ride The Ducks also offers a bit of world history. The Duck vehicle used for the tours are 1945 era Army DUKWs that have been converted into comfortable, reliable, open-air vehicles accommodating 36 passengers each. A DUKW has the automotive characteristic of a conventional 6x6 truck and is equipped with a watertight hull. The vehicle uses four driving wheels and an eight-cylinder engine by land and a marine propeller and rudder by sea.
Ride The Ducks is the largest amphibious sightseeing tour in America. They are a part of Herschend Family Entertainment and carries over half a million passengers nationwide. In addition to the wholly owned Ride The Ducks operations in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Branson and Memphis, Ride The Ducks also licenses it vehicles to operators in Boston, Seattle and Stone Mountain, GA.
Tickets to this quacktastic adventure may be purchased at the local ticket booth located outside Light Street Pavilion near the Discovery Store entrance, online or via telephone at 877-887-8225.
